There are many doomsdayers out there who talk about how bad things are going to get, but then never offer a solution. Well written. Thanks for the ideas! I think we can all benefit from them NOW – Regardless of what one believes the future will bring!

Even if they were I don’t think there’s anything you can do to create more security, because there is no such a thing as security to begin with. It’s an illusion created by the ego, which demands certainty for its happiness.

With that said, I do believe in taking responsibility for your own destiny and not leaving it up to government to make your life better. Entrepreneurialism is one way of taking control of your own destiny.

I also agree with you when you say it’s necessary to simplify your life and give up excess materialism. I can’t speak for what’s going on outside of North America, but I can tell you that we in this part of the world are drowning in a sea of conspicuous consumption, with many people cluttering up their lives with consumer goods they really don’t need and simply wouldn’t have if it weren’t for credit.

I also agree that many people pay little attention to their inner lives or don’t realize they’re part of a much grander scheme of things.

And of course, you reap what you sow holds as true now as it ever did. It’s the basic law of the universe and you can’t escape it.
