God loves you

Pastor WD Favour ministering during a healing and miracle serviceGod loves you!

In the course of my ministry, in healing, and miracle crusades, lots of people have asked me the question, “Why are some people healed and others not?” “Why is it that some people get their prayers answered, while others don’t?”
I wish I knew the exact answers to those questions. Sadly, I don’t know.

However, there are things that I know for sure and I’ll show you those things from the Scriptures. Please bookmark this page for further studies and meditations.

#1 God Loves You!

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life ~John 3:16

What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all – how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? ~ Romans 8:31, 32

These scriptures are often taken for granted, but they communicate an amazing truth – God loves you!

#2 God cares about you!

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. ~ 1 Peter 5:7

Now think about that. It’s not just that God loves you, but He cares about you.
I don’t know what life is throwing at you – and neither can I claim to know why you are facing those trying times. But one thing I know, and that is this, God loves you, and He cares about you.
Take His word for it and kick the devils thoughts out of your mind.

#3 God has great plans for you

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future ~ Jeremiah 29:11

Wow! Can you read that? God has great plans for you. He loves you, He cares about you, and He has great plans for you.
So now, you can look at the future with hope – because your future is truly bright.
God’s word is greater than your fears and your feelings. It is greater than the negative thoughts in your mind. Take His word right now and confess that He has great plans for you.

God loves you, God cares about you, and God has great plans for you!

#4 Nothing is too hard for God

I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me? ~ Jeremiah 32:27

Of course, nothing is too hard for the Lord.
It may be hard for you, hard for the doctor, hard for your parents. It may be hard for everybody that has counseled you on the matter – but is not hard for the Lord.
There’s no challenge of your life that is too hard for Him. He can dismantle it just as easily as He raised Lazarus from the dead – just as easily as He divided the Red Sea!

God loves you, God cares about you, God has great plans for you, and nothing is too hard for God!

#5 God hears prayers

O you who hear prayer, to you all men will come ~ Psalms 65:2

Now, that’s interesting – God hears prayers.
It doesn’t always seem like He does, but He does.
This is one of the most encouraging scriptures that I know of because it encourages me to pray.
He hears you when you call. He’s not deaf, He hears prayers.

Just think about it all: God loves you, God cares about you, God has great plans for you, nothing is too hard for God, and God hears prayers!

#6 God Answers Prayers

This is what the LORD says, he who made the earth, the LORD who formed it and established it – the LORD is his name:Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know ~ Jeremiah 33:2

So its not just that God hears prayers, He answers prayers too!
That’s why we sing that He’s a prayer-answering God.
This is another very encouraging scripture that has blessed me through the years.
In fact, I always read this verse whenever I want to embark on a season of praying, fasting and intercession, and I can say that I’ve not experienced the reality of any scripture as I have this one.

So, God loves you, God cares about you, God has great plans for you, nothing is too hard for God, God hears prayers, and God answers prayers!

#7 God Will Not Withhold Any Good Thing From You

For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless ~ Psalm 84:11

Isn’t that amazing? God will not withhold any good thing from you!
As long as you trust him and as long as you’ve accepted the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus Christ on your behalf, God sees you as blameless and righteous. And He will not withhold any good thing from you.

God loves you, God cares about you, God has great plans for you, nothing is too hard for God, God hears prayers, God answers prayers, and God will not withhold any good thing from you!

#8 God Will Not Give You Stone For Bread

Which of you if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! ~ Matthew 7:9-11

Hmmm…I call that Divine Logic! Good understanding! Sound reasoning!
God will not give you stone for bread.

God loves you, God cares about you, God has great plans for you, nothing is too hard for God, God hears prayers, God answers prayers, God will not withhold any good thing from you, and God will not give you stone for bread!

Like I said at the beginning, there’s a whole lot I don’t know about this life – lots and lots of confusing stuff.
But like I’ve told you so far, I know that God loves you, God cares about you, God has great plans for you, nothing is too hard for God, God hears prayers, God answers prayers, God will not withhold any good thing from you, and God will not give you stone for bread!

Now let’s put it all together

If God Loves You…
…And if God Cares About You,
…if God Has Great Plans For You,
And Nothing Is Too Hard For God,
If God Hears Prayers,
And if God Answers Prayers,
If God Will Not Withhold Any Good Thing From You,
And if God Will Not Give You Stone For Bread,

Approach Him then through prayers, according to Hebrews 4:16, with confidence, so that you may receive mercy and find grace to help you in your time of need.

He will not disappoint you.

Always remember this, God loves you!

Please correct me if I am absolutely incorrect but the context (reading before and after in scripture) of "By His stripes you were healed" is referring to healing from sin and the much more painful torture of separation from God more than physical body healing and is often mistaken to mean physical body healing.

I continue to cling daily to the garment of Christ, but I choose to do so patiently.....finding joy in now.....where my body remains imperfect in health but I have hope for a new body in glory and hopefully for healing on earth at some point. I believe He could heal me because He can do anything......even move mountains...but may not for reasons I am not totally able to comprehend. I have firmly been told WAIT and "Love Me Still" in answer to my prayers....not no but not "yes, now", and it has been made very clear to me. Of course this is my own experience. For me, I cling to Him and I depend upon Him, and I choose contentment in the now and the mixed life that I have that has both blessings and sufferings in it.

Sickness is not from Him but occasionally I believe He allows it.....like He allows poverty, like He allows loss.

Our society has developed in a way that puts poisons and toxins into our own air. If people were not allowed to become ill from the chemicals, we would never learn another way.

As more toxic air develops in our world and we taint our food with chemicals and lose the health lifting benefits that God originally designed as man alters God's creation, we will find more people developing chronic illnesses as a kind and gentle wake up call to change our ways. I see how there could be a purpose in Christians having experienced this to help change the way man develops and abuses chemicals into our air.

Tangenting too much now...that is obviously my own take and not a guarantee....just a plausible scenario whereby illness might be allowed or some from sin of others who process the nutrition out of our life giving nourishing foods and other products......I apologize in advance, but sometimes I as an individual may not see the unfolding of a huge big plan that is not just all about me.

My job is to love Him still, cling to Him for guidance and dependance, beg boldly for healing but not sin while I wait for it to happen with personal discontent that this happened in my life.

I do disgree that we were all promised perfect health on earth and I eagerly await my new body someday in Glory which will be perfect. Until then, I make the best choices I know how and I cling to Him.

Yeah, Arcilla. At least, we all seem to agree that God loves us, God cares about us, God has great plans for us, nothing is too hard for God, God hears prayers, God answers prayers, God will not withhold any good thing from us, and God will not give us stone for bread! Thanks for your comment.
  • Amen WD!

    Hi Paul, welcome on board!

Wow! What a coctail of opinions, comments and perspectives! This post sure had some unintended results! Thanks Jewel, for setting off the time-bomb.
Thanks Michelle for your heartfelt sharing and may God continue to strengthen you and accelerate your progress towards perfect wholeness.
Jenny, your thoughts, as you know are always welcome. Steve, you made me laugh all day!! Lol..
Thanks Lynn, may the Lord strengthen you to continue proclaiming His words with courage and unwavering dedication. You are a true angel and I loved your site. You are doing a great job.
Thanks Kompostela...you sure got into this one.
Bunny, I appreciate your strong link with the Lord. May He continue to strengthen you.
Though I'm a staunch advocate of keeping an open mind and developing a multidimensional perspective an all subjects, I still believe that you have a right to protect your deepest beliefs and values, since to a great extent, they define who you are. As a Christian Pastor, I believe with all of my heart that salvation from sin and it's eternal consequences can only come through a personal faith in Jesus Christ, God's perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world.
  • When it comes to hard questions like these, we have to be careful not to allow our own opinions get in the way of God's Truth. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to base HUGE choices on an opinion that could be wrong...I've been wrong once or twice in my day! ;) lol

Anyways, when it does come to these kind of questions, we have to take the time to get to know God and have an intimate relationship with Him, so we know His thoughts on the matter. If we don't take the time to know His heart, we are just walking around in the dark hoping that our opinion is right. Praise God! For He is patient with us! We just need to make an effort to get to know Him and His Word.

Clarifying again. I still believe the premises of this piece and believe Jesus is the only way. God loves us all but has provided one way to be connected to Him....Jesus! The part about "putting it all together" is right on. I remain ill in body, but I am not ill in spirit. I am just not sure that illness is always stone for bread.....or that illness is always definately a good thing withheld from a person. I get personally ill from chemicals which are not good for me. Avoiding them helps me and is a good thing. Eating healthier because I was ill is also a good thing. The life changes that I have been forced to make were a good thing. The physicians I have met have changed the way I practice my profession of optometry are a good thing. God does allow us to struggle....but He will use all things for the good. I too have learned about the mind body connection and the law of attraction and there is some right on stuff twisted with some not so right on stuff in there. If healing happens through changing your own thoughts and learning to be calm and meditiate, it is not because you personally did it....it is because God allowed that for you and allowed you to learn how to get calm. Saying "I healed myself" feels like biting the hand that feeds you to me. If I am healed(have been so improved in the past year), it will not be me who does so.....but God who allows that healing to take place. The ultimate power lies in Him through His son. The law of attraction has some calming tools which help me in this world, but ultimately they are limited in scope.

I recognize that this comment does not likely ring true because I remain ill....therefore my arguments can be dismissed with the "I am well with my way and you remain ill with your way" argument, but thought I would try anyway.
  • I have to say my feel on this subject is,each individual is responsible for their health and well being.
It is important to believe in a higher power that loves you unconditionally. You receive strength and insight from your higher power.
You are never alone because of it.
Accepting hard times, failures, ill health are not God's doing but human error or neglect.
My God provides me with strength and is my constant companion.
  • Hi WD, I agree with the first 2 comments. Firstly God does not love only people practicing one religion. God IS love and in that sense if you are truly living the best you know how -- you are on the right path. I don't believe all Jewish people are loved less because they do not accept Jesus Christ.... everyone has the right to their own beliefs.... it is WHAT you do with your life that is important.

I totally understand what Michele said because I believe I was ill for six years for a reason. My illnesses allowed me to find my passion and purpose which is to empower others to realize their own power and heal from within themselves. Maybe if I had been sick for only 2-3 years I would not have "gotten" it. When I KNEW it was time for me to heal myself I did -- almost overnight when doctors said I would be getting only worse.

Why does God not answer all prayers? I feel there are a few reasons for this. One, we need to learn life lessons to find our own life path and to grow. Secondly, when we HOLD onto one solution as the answer we are actually resisting because we are not "letting go and letting God" we are actually saying WE know what is best for us... I assure you this is USUALLY not the case. When we ask for something usually it is our ego or conscious mind asking and we are not looking within to see what we truly need and are instead asking for what we "WANT". Thirdly; belief.... After learning a bit about the law of attraction and the mind/body connection I KNEW I would heal myself.... KNEW IT deep inside.... with other things I have asked for I feel like I want to believe it and am saying I believe it but if that belief isn't honest, unwavering belief I feel you have to go through even more life lessons until you get to that point.

Thanks WD -- love to read your thought provoking posts and see people's responses.

    Gratefully, Jenny
  • To Jeweledrabbit and Kompostela,

God is not the "Father of all people". He is Creater of all, but He is only Father to those who have accepted His Son. Jesus told the Jews of His day, "If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I came from God and now am here... You belong to your father THE DEVIL." (John 8 42-44, emphasis mine) Again in John 14:6, He said "I am the way, the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through Me."

Neither does God "see us all as blameless". Romans 3:23 declared, "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God," and Romans 6:23 tells us "The wages of sin is death."

This is precicely the reason Jesus laid aside His Godhood and came as man, to live a sinless life and die in our place, paying the penalty of our sins, so that we could come into a relationship with God as our Father. However, that relationship comes only through Jesus, and we can have it only by accepting Him.
