Home Church Reports 10

The love of God is the heart of our home churches.  Not only do we share common values and priorities, we also share the same spiritual genes based on the blood of Jesus Christ. This is the real power of our fellowship. ~ Pastor WD Favour on Understanding the Church

Enjoy this week’s reports…

Home Churches“The birds were chirping, the skies were blue, and we were excited as we went through albums and saw members when they were toddlers. It was reminiscent of the past.

After our worship and prayer session, we delved into our interactive study, ‘Prayer as a key.’ Our text was Matthew 11:46 and we brought to light classic conceptions of prayer but stuck to the concept of prayer as a means to communicating with God.  During the session, a member said that the enemy keeps throwing the dice, sowing seeds, not relenting, all in a bid to steal, kill, destroy, and deter us from our destinies. So, ‘watch and pray,’ we concluded.

We gave our offerings and practiced for our presentation, an African dance drama on ‘Home Church B – as we are.’  I was awed at the refined talent and expertise of members during practice for our presentation which is mind blowing.

Everyone shared the unexpected faithfulness of God in their lives, which was morally and spiritually uplifting.
We then reluctantly brought our meeting to an end.

Next week, we’ll look at ‘Prayer as a key – Part 2.’

Be a distinct paradigm and have a splendid weekend.”

“Each person on arrival had a warm handshake and hearty welcome awaiting him. There was palpable love and liveliness in the air as we got immersed in worship and opened the meeting.

The interactive session followed and the topic was WORK ON YOUR CORE. This was a continuation of our previous discussion.

We defined ‘your core’ as your central essence, your substance, who you are. We saw that since God looks on the inside, our self-improvement should start from inside out. Contributions came that our motive is an integral part of our core, hence we should let justice and God be the motive for our actions.

We individually shared how we’ve been able to apply this principle since the beginning of this topic of discussion.

Next came our offerings and then rehearsals for our presentation in church on Sunday – a speech on integrity that promises to be overly mind-stirring.

As dusk had set in, we had a light refreshment and rounded off by praying for one of us as he’d requested.

Next week, we’ll conclude this series of discussion.

See you then.

God bless you.”

“It was another wonderful Wednesday with a general air of excitement as we all gathered, conversing and interacting with one another. We prayed and committed the meeting into Gods mighty hand.

The topic of our interactive bible study was ‘Be fruitful and multiply part 2,’ with texts from John 3:16 and Ephesians 2:10. It was quite interesting as everyone tried to contribute. Comments included ‘make every opportunity in your life count in the lives of people around you,’ ‘Our attention should be more on giving than on receiving,’ and ‘Men are Gods master pieces, therefore we should invest in them.”

It was a great time of bonding as we all put heads together to come up with a song for our Sunday’s presentation.

Next week we will be looking at ‘Creating desired results.’

Stay connected!!”

“This week was another awesome gathering as most members arrived an hour earlier. We began with worship, and, led by the holy spirit, we moved into intercessory prayers. It was breath taking as the zeal to intercede fell on everyone. The atmosphere was saturated with God’s presence.

After the intercessory prayer session, we began our interactive bible study period. The topic was ‘Perfect Focus,’ and texts were taken from 2 Corinthians 5:10, Proverbs 4:23, Proverbs 24:21, and Proverbs 23:18-19. We learnt that when your faith is built strongly on what you believe, you don’t see defeat no matter what. We further observed that the only limitations we have are the ones we have placed upon ourselves. We then encouraged one another to be on guard and mind what we say as well as our companies.

We had contributions such as ‘Focus should be a life style that is determined by our values.’

Afterwards group pictures were taken as well as offering. Then we had our rehearsal for a drama presentation.

The meeting ended with light refreshments.”
