On the Altar of Sacrifice.
Personally, the week had been lovely, exciting and full of wonderful surprises. So, no sooner had my Home Church members arrived than I started sharing all my testimonies with them. Of course, they were delighted, excited and happy too.
Then, after a short opening prayer, we delved into an extremely important subject that deeply resonates with my core – on the altar of sacrifice.
The privilege of giving to God is a special one and thus should be done out of love and not compulsion.
After an in-depth study of the book of Malachi, which says a lot about giving gifts to God, we realized that it is actually wrong, for instance, to give dirty and rumpled notes to God either as a seed or offering! Essentially, it’s an abomination to give God anything short of our very best; to give him that which cost us nothing.
Also, the way and manner in which we package our gifts to God is extremely important. This is because, the packaging and the presentation of our gifts to God expresses either honour or dishonour.
As a conclusion to our home church meeting, we carefully, prayerfully, and in a solemn manner, presented our offerings to God, to show Him how much we loved Him.
I ask God this every time I have the opportunity to, and it’s a simple prayer, “Father, help me love you desperately”, and today, I pray the same prayer for all of us, “Father, help us love you desperately in Jesus name”. Amen.
