Very interesting story! There are those who recognize their calling in life right away, and then there's the rest of us who consider various options. I do wonder what made the second pastor say you should study mass communications since that wasn't really on the table at the time. Again, interesting story.

Thank you for sharing

Thanks Julie. It's important for us all to avoid the temptation to become selfish because, ultimately, we only get to keep what we selflessly share. Our lives are meant to be gifts to others!

What a wonderful break from "work" I just took. I chose to spend it here, and what a great choice!

Thank you my friend for sharing your stroll down memory lane with us.

You basic belief that "The magic ingredient of life and which I believe adds to longevity is adding value to other peoples lives by doing what you are passionate about," is one I share, deeply.

Service is what it's all about. The best way to serve is happily and to get there, you had better be in your purpose. :-)

God gives us each a special gift...and it's clear you have used yours to bless others! That's just wonderful.
God bless you.

Hi, I wanted to take a moment and respond to your questions because I truly enjoyed your post.

1) What is your place in life? - I've asked myself that for many years and I think my place in life is to always "be" where I "am" and bring people together. It is what keeps me level, it is what keeps me happy and it is what keeps me motivated.

2) Have you discovered your true vocation? I have discovered that I love to plan and organize large or small events. I find that I also love to share ideas and learn from "learned" people. I'm working to meld all that I do into a vocation that will allow me to use all my talents in the "organizing" area and keep me happy.

3) Could it be that right now some childhood fantasy is keeping you from functioning at the centre of your calling? - No, I have shaken off the "you should have's" and I'm in the place where I know it's my decision where I go and my reflection and introspection is what matters right now at this point in my life. I choose what path I want to take. My childhood is a lovely memory, but I am an adult now.

4) Is anything keeping you from your life’s true vocation? Nothing that can't be overcome with determiation.
