The Secret of Champions

This week has been a bee hive of activities as we’ve been preparing for home church pastors appreciation day taking place this Sunday. It promises to be exhilarating – I can hardly wait!

Members arrived, chatting excitedly as we discussed our plans for Sunday. We had to squeeze out time for our bible discussion. At Excellence home church, we all know we have a date with destiny and that is the reason  for the bible discussion themes. We looked at the story of David and his slaying of Goliath. We see him refusing to use King Saul’s armour because he wasn’t conversant with them, he insisted on using his sling and stone, and that gave him overwhelming victory.

We were reminded all over again that champions  fight the battles of life from their area of strength. One of us remarked that it is a sure recipe for failure and disaster to focus on our weaknesses. What you focus on multiplies  is a timeless law that works when ever it is applied.

We agreed to dwell more on the topic next week and quickly moved into our rehearsals for Sunday. It’s a reggae song dance presentation about following God forever. Home church presentations are assuming phenomenal proportions for us as it has become a medium for us to display our God given talents.
