This entry is part 3 of 5 in the series WD Stories

<<<Continued from here<<<

In today’s post, I’d like to introduce my friend, Becky.  She’s the Director of Administrations for the WD Favour Ministries International.

Becky Illig has been married for 18 years to her husband, Greg. They have three sons: Michael-15, Justin-13, and Braden-11.
Becky has a Bachelor or Arts in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations from Slippery Rock University. She was a Corporate Fulfilment Program Coordinator for an Advertising Specialties company.  She is currently a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant.

Becky and her family are active in their faith community. She is a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Ministry Of Mothers Sharing at her Church. She is a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader. She is the past President of the Parent Faculty Association at her sons’ elementary school.

Her passion is to serve God by being of service to her brothers and sisters in faith.

Here’s her ‘WD Story’…

Becky 1 “After a year of illness, I had such a feeling of hopelessness. I had a void deep within my heart.   This is something you do not want to share with anyone.  I was at a Mary Kay training where we were asked what our talents, gifts and purpose was.  I couldn’t answer any of those questions.  I came to the realization that the missing element was a more intimate relationship with God.

I prayed for an open heart to know his will for my life and a spiritual director to guide me.  God is always faithful but he sometimes answers prayers in a most unexpected way.

I met Pastor WD Favour through my friend, Shileen.  She had asked for my help to plan a women’s conference.  Little did I know the journey this “yes” would lead me on.

With WD’s guidance I discovered my God given talents and gifts.  For the first time in my life, I knew who God created me to be.  My spiritual life has blossomed.  I am firmly rooted in my relationship with God.  People have commented on how I seem different.  I never imaged that in a few short months my life could be totally transformed.  Now I cannot image how I lived such an empty existence.

Only God knows where the rest of my journey will take me.  My one wish is to please God and do the job he created me to do.
If you are thinking about getting involved with WD Favour Ministries International [WDFMI], this is an amazing opportunity to discover your God given gifts, talents and purpose while making a positive difference in the lives of others. If you feel God’s call tugging at your heart, act upon it.” ~

It was about two weeks before WD’s visa interview when he and I began to discuss a shift happening in his online ministry. Because of that shift WD was becoming aware of the need to broaden Woman Discover Yourself to include Men Discover Yourself, Youth Discover Yourself, Children Discover Yourself. In one of our meetings we entered a very familiar creative moment when, without a shadow of doubt, God was in our midst working His plan between us (an amazing experience especially being thousands of miles apart).

On April 15, 2009 WD Favour Ministries International was born and positions were carefully assigned to all five of us. This ministry would encompass all of mankind to “discover yourself”. We were quite excited for the obvious but also for the fact that the Pittsburgh Woman Discover Yourself Conference ’09, which was scheduled for August, would be our first event … so we thought!

The major speed bump I spoke of earlier was quickly approaching but, of course, we were clueless. We were all very deep in our personal journeys being stretched beyond our wildest dreams while at the same time trying to get our heads around the new ministry concept and our new positions and continue on with the women’s conference plans. Oh my! What a crazy time it was!

The girls and I had decided that we would get up and pray during WD’s visa interview. We were pretty convinced that his visa was in the bag, but we still felt that he needed prayer coverage. So there we were on Yahoo Chat at 4am before the Lord lifting up the whole situation to Him giving praise and thanksgiving for all that was happening. Can you imagine having a powerful prayer meeting on chat? Another amazing experience!

Hours passed before any of us received a call. When the phone finally did ring I jumped with excitement ready to hear the good news, but what I heard was, “It’s ok, I was denied. I didn’t get the visa.” I honestly thought he was joking and told him so. It didn’t take long before he had convinced me and did my heart ever sink. You can imagine the disappointment we all felt.

What in the world were we going to do?!

Awesome! Somehow I missed the announcement of the international ministry. May the Lord bless WD and all of you with all the answers and blessings you need. Be blessed in all your service in His name…Lynn
