You Can Mould Time To Your Advantage

How much time do you need to achieve your dreams?

How long will it take for you to move from your current status in life, to the point where you are living your dreams? How long does it take to go, say,  from a life of lack and poverty, to one of prosperity and fulfilment? Or, how long will it take before we discover effective cures to terminal diseases such as AIDS?

These are time-related questions. The essence of these questions is simply, how much time would be required to move from point A (an undesirable such as frustrating poverty) to point B (a desirable such as fulfilling abundance)?

[By the way, what are your answers to questions like these, particularly in your personal life?
In other words, how much time do you need to move from where you are, to where you'll rather be?
How much time do you need to achieve your dreams?]

The subject of time has been an interesting one for me since my university years. I’m glad to be able to publicly explore my thoughts and experiences in this area.

In the following blog posts, I’ll share my thoughts, feelings, perspectives, opinions, and beliefs about ‘time’. I’ll adopt a style of writing that I’ve used so far only in my personal and private journals, and that is to put down strings and threads of thoughts as they hit my mind, coupled with how I interpret those perspectives. Hopefully, you’ll make some meaning out of my thoughts and become inspired in the process too.

Let me start by saying that I believe you can mould time to your advantage; you can actually control your time – that is, how long it takes you, for instance, to achieve your dreams . However, you must first of all cultivate a greater awareness and understanding of the forces that can shape time to your tastes.

What does ‘time’ mean to you?

I see time in many ways…

A resource… Someone says, “Give me a minute…” This sounds like “I need to use time to do something.”

A raw material… Everything happens in time, though I can’t help but wonder if everything will happen in time for you?

A tool….Your life is very often measured in terms of time – he’s 45, she’s 47. So time becomes a tool for measuring how long you’ve been alive, how long you’ve spent in a certain area or activity..

How you look at time, determines how you use time, how you manipulate time, and how you respond to time.

Now, before we go on, think about time… What does it mean to you?

  • Time is something I never have enough of, and something I wish would speed up in terms of my making my dreams come true.
